Gallagher BA80 Battery Fence Energiser (9/12V)

The Gallagher BA80 is the most powerful device from the BA series and designed for pastures up to 10 km of electric fence or approximately 4 hectares under ideal conditions. Under normal conditions, it is suitable for fences up to 3 km. With a charging energy of 0.8 joules (0.48 J pulse) and a maximum output voltage of 9600 volts, it keeps horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and hobby animals safely within their pasture.

Two modes for power or energy saving

The BA80 has two modes: a mode for maximum power (mode 1) and a smart saving mode (mode 2), where one full pulse is followed by three pulses at half strength. This saving mode can be used for animals that are trained and respect the fence. Thus, a 9V battery of 210 Ah lasts up to four months and the average consumption drops to about 90 mA. Always choose a 210 Ah battery for the BA80, otherwise the device cannot operate at maximum mode (with lighter 9V batteries the device can only function in saving mode).

Bright LED indication and quick installation

A green LED flashes with each pulse so you can immediately see that there is power on the fence. When the LED flashes red, you know it’s time to replace the 9V battery (this does not work for 12V batteries). For installation, one 1.0 m earth stake is sufficient. The included cable set for connection to the fence clicks into place in seconds, after which you immediately have power on the wire.

Weather-resistant, portable and flexibly deployable

For field use, the BA80 is equipped with an IPX4 splash-proof housing, built-in lightning protection, and a robust carrying handle. Weighing only 1.6 kg, you can effortlessly move the device from field to field, ideal for pastures where mains power is not available. The choice between a 9V disposable battery or rechargeable 12V battery gives you complete freedom. When you want to use the BA80 with a 12V battery, you must purchase a separate cable set (005499).
