Tornado’s range of livestock fencing offers maximum strength, security, and longevity! In order to protect your livestock, whilst being good value for money.
Farmers understand that grassland management requires reliable, strong fencing. Fencing that will last for decades. High tensile wire can be strained tighter than mild steel.
The benefits of high tensile fencing include:
- Doesn’t stretch with weathering. Meaning it does not need to be re-tightened annually
- Quickly to put up
- Half the amount of posts required
Tornado Livestock High Tensile Fencing requires different techniques to erect, compared with mild steel. However, it is no more difficult.
Most farms have access to a post driver that can easily drive in strainers to the required depth. Bending and tying off is simple when using the correct technique.
The total number of people working on farms has halved since the 1970s meaning there is less time available for regular maintenance jobs such as re-tightening stock fences. Tornado High Tensile Fencing stays tight and does not stretch like mild steel, leaving you with one less job on your list!
A common misconception within farming is that a mild steel stock fence will cost less than a High Tensile. Whilst the Tornado Livestock High Tensile Fencing mesh rolls may be more expensive to buy, this difference is the cost is more than compensated for by the reduced numbers of posts and labour required.
Although HT8/80/15 is the most common spec used for livestock, we also offer a wide variety of specifications to suit different animals and applications. Please contact one of our fencing experts who are on hand to provide you with professional support and advice.

It comes in a variety of different wire diameters, knots and in high tensile or mild steel but the 8 line wire, 80cm high with 15cm between the stay wires configuration is ideal for all types of livestock. This one is high tensile with a hinged joint knot. |
HT8/80/22 | 100 | 50.6 | 2.5 | Lambsafe -The same basic design as the 8/80/15 but with 22cm between the vertical stay wires, the wider spacing helps prevent sheep from getting their heads trapped in the net. |
